La Jolla Cove Printer FriendlyDirections: 8 west
15 north 52 west, stay straight on the 52, follow signs to La jolla(you will be on the 52 for awhile). Follow the hill up and over into la jolla, stay straight on the main blvd turn right on prospect, follow signs to cove. (Google Directions offers another route to get there.) Rating: La Jolla Cove is one of the most scenic beach spots in San Diego. It offers a unique opportunity to tide pool, snorkel, scuba dive, and swim. When the surge is low you can swim with the Ghirabaldi and really get an up close look at some marine life! The cove atmosphere is really refreshing, if you love the ocean, you definitely need to check out all the cove has to offer. Just down the beach is the children's pool, now home to the seals! Take a scenic walk along the cliffs to a close up of our local seals. If you plan on going before september ends, take a quick trip to la jolla shores with your snorkel gear.[its not too far from the cove] then walk all the way to the south end of the beach[the leftmost if you are facing the horizon] where the water is calmer. at that end you will be able to see leopard sharks, guitarfish, and stingrays in waist deep water. these sharks are generally harmless unless provoked.[ie stepping on a stingray] if you can't swim flotation devices like boogie boards can be used.[unlike the cove which doesn't allow flotation devices] Author: Lauren Castello
